Parents are encouraged to contribute to the running costs of the school. These are divided into three main areas:
The Catholic Education Office, in conjunction with the Bishops of New Zealand, sets these. Accounts are sent out each term and payment may be made to the school office or by direct credit. Details are available from the school office. These dues are currently $34.00 per child per term. Money collected for attendance dues is forwarded to the Integrated Schools Board and not retained by St Francis School. Payment of attendance dues is a condition of enrolment.
CATHOLIC CHARACTER PAYMENT
This is a voluntary payment of $5.00 per child per term, payable to the Catholic Integrated Schools Board via the school office. The payment assists eith the salaries of the Religious Education Advisors who support the schools in the delivery of the Religious Education curriculum.
SCHOOL ACCOUNTS
Accounts are sent out for the following items:
Purchase of items related to the curriculum and retained by the child, e.g. Religious Education activity book, Art folios, dictionaries.
Payment for materials or the use of facilities, e.g. hireage of local swimming pools, provision of materials for Year 7 and 8 Technology at High School.
A voluntary payment with a suggested amount of $15.00 per term per child with a maximum of $40.00 per term per family. This money contributes to meeting the running costs incurred by the school which are not covered by grants, e.g.photocopying, additional classroom materials and equipment.
