Australian Mary MacKillop founded the Sisters of Saint
Joseph of the Sacred Heart. Jesus stood for justice, peace, freedom and equality for everyone. To lead a religious life with the Josephites is to claim this vision of Jesus and to challenge some values of society. The Josephite Charism is expressed in "ordinary" human ways, through the reverencing of human dignity, in education of the young, adult education, religious presence and pastoral work in isolated rural areas, youth ministries, social work, and nursing. |
